Project FoodBox, powered by SunTerra Produce, has delivered over 5 million boxes (about 100 million pounds) of fresh fruits, vegetables, and staples to communities in need across Southern California, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside, and Imperial counties. The program sources produce directly from family farms—often using sizes or grades not accepted by retail—to reduce waste, then collaborates with food banks, Medi-Cal plans, and healthcare providers to offer medically tailored “food-as-medicine” interventions. Its goal is to expand service to all 58 counties in California while promoting sustainability and health among vulnerable populations.
