The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has launched a new study to examine the healing potential of the “food is medicine” approach. VA clinics are providing healthy meals and nutrition counseling to veterans to see if improved dietary habits can enhance health outcomes, lower medical costs, and reduce reliance on medications for chronic illnesses.
